as the Seminoles try to burn the bridge and the soldiers defend it.

south of Zephyrhills on US Highway 301. From I-75, Southbound from Ocala take
the SR 54. Exit #279 east to Hwy 301, travel South for 6 miles, and the park

to a simpler time of celebrating Christmas on the Florida Frontier.
Join the
folks at Dade Battlefield Historic State Park as they make and play with
home-made toys, create corn husk dolls, do soap carving, learn the art of punch
tin crafts, dip candles, listen to old-time music, square dance, sing carols,
decorate a Christmas tree, make Christmas crafts, and visit a far-from-home
soldier’s encampment.
Participants will
get to sample holiday frontier treats and buy refreshments from vendors.

The Ichetucknee
River is wonderful in the winter! The
trees along the banks and in the floodplain are still showing off their fall
colors, and the ducks are settling in for the season. Experience the magic as the mist rises off
the warm spring waters!
This special
interpretive program is space-limited and by reservation only.
Participants do not
need to bring personal canoes or kayaks, as all equipment and PFD’s will be
provided.
The tour will meet
at the North Entrance, off Elim Church Road (County Road 238). Launch time will be as close to 6:45 a.m. as
possible (sunrise is at 7:14 a.m.). The
tour will end at the Last Take-Out at the south end of the park, and
transportation will be provided back to the North Entrance.
Participants should
dress warmly, as dictated by the weather.
Flashlights during the launching time are recommended.

State Park is located four miles northwest of Fort White, off State Roads 47
and 238. From the south, take I-75 north to exit 399. Take US 441 north to the
city of High Springs. Take US 27 north to Ft. White, stay on US 27 north
approximately 4 miles to the South Park Entrance.
Please Note: Dogs are only permitted on the Trestle Point
and Pine Ridge Trails located at the North End.

beautiful this time of year and come alive with Holiday decorations.
Children will enjoy the Holidays around the
World Playground, which will include hands-on arts and crafts, face painting,
games from different cultures and prizes. Children may also share their holiday
wish list with Santa at the Visitor Center and get their photo taken for a
nominal charge.
New to the event
this year, the Friends of Washington Oaks, will be hosting the Holiday Tea
Party with Mrs. Claus the same day as Holiday in the Gardens! Children can join one of three tea sessions
throughout the day at 11am, 12:30pm, and 2:00pm. Each session will be $5 and will include tea,
reindeer sandwiches, craft time, and story-telling with Mrs. Claus. You can pre-register by calling 386-446-6783
spaces are limited!
Visitors can also
do their holiday shopping with a wide variety of arts and crafts vendors in the
events field. Other activities include the Friends Second Saturday Holiday
plant sale, an exciting chance drawing and live entertainment throughout the
day. Food vendors will be available including the Friends Bake Sale, Kettle
Corn and more.
In lieu of regular
park entrance fees, admission will be the donation of a toy or one
non-perishable food item per person. The toys collected will be distributed by
the Flagler County Marine Corp Toys for Tots program. The Church Women United
Foundation will create food baskets with the food items and distribute to those
in need throughout Flagler County.

Daughters of the Confederacy, Florida Division, the Gamble Plantation
Preservation Alliance and the Florida Park Service proudly announce that the
Plantation Christmas Open House will be held this year on Sunday, December 9,

travel back to the Old South during the day through the many lifestyle
demonstrations of that time period.
Gamble Mansion and
the Patten House will be lavishly decorated in the Christmas spirit, allowing
you a special look at a 19th century Christmas.
The Ladies of the United Daughters of the Confederacy will be wearing
costumes reminiscent of the era of the 1840’s through 1870’s to add that
special touch of authenticity to the day.
The 4th Florida Volunteer Infantry will be dressed in military uniforms
re-enacting a Confederate encampment.
There will be music, crafts and fun for everyone.

Come celebrate the
Festival of Lights at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park as they
decorate the park with more than 4.5 million lights. This first day of the event includes a Christmas
Parade and a marshmallow roast.
Stephen
Foster Folk Culture Center State Park will host the annual Festival of Lights,
displaying more than five million lights throughout the park, November 30
through December 30, 2012. The park will
be open each evening until 9 p.m., except Christmas Night, Dec. 25.
Named a
Top 20 Event in the southeastern United States, visitors can enjoy
award-winning holiday sights and sounds throughout the park. Unique holiday
light displays include majestic oak trees decorated with thousands of lights,
an antebellum Museum dressed in full holiday splendor, a gingerbread village, a
candy cane forest, Santa’s runway and much more. The park’s centerpiece is the
200 foot tall Carillon Tower, which illuminates the night sky as holiday music
rings from its bells.

Thelma Boltin’s Gift Shop will be open everyday from noon until 9 p.m. Complimentary hot cocoa and popcorn are
served nightly as the Craft Square comes alive with craft demonstrations, a
bonfire, marshmallow roasting and holiday singing for everyone.

can experience a “flurry” of fun in our winter wonderland which includes
holiday music at the park nightly from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.

Waterfront Farmers Market first began as a seasonal market in 2004. Later that year, the community erected a
pavilion to house the Market.
In September, 2010 a group of dedicated volunteers took the Market on as a challenge and transformed it into the current vibrant, bustling year-round market with a unique Make-It-or-Grow-It atmosphere.
In April, 2011 the market became host to St. Andrews Community Garden and together they work to promote our local agriculture, inspire healthy living and improve our regional economy.

first market
expansion occurred on September 10, 2011 and put the market on BOTH sides of the
water
- at St. Andrews Marina and at Smith's Yacht Basin on Beck Ave.
For $1.00 each way, shoppers enjoy 3-minute ferry service between the two market sites on beautiful St. Andrew Bay. The Market is proud to be America's only farmers market to offer ferry service to its shoppers!

the market expanded to include the Grand Lagoon at Pirate's Cove operating on Sundays.
